It's a solid design and still a huge contender on the market for anyone looking for a solid mounting ladder to access your 4Runner roof.? And, we found as the 4Runner aged, the OEM rear hatch struts sometimes struggled to open. There are aftermarket rear hatch strut upgrades (linked here) that we install in our own shop here in AZ that have worked well for us.?
